Week of the 4th of July

Mark met me in Utah just in time to celebrate the 4th of July at my parents' cabin.   We started off the celebration by watching the Oakley 4th of July parade.  It was a nice change from the usual parades with floats since almost every entry in this one included horses and gave it kind of a western feel.  It still had a lot of candy thrown out like the normal parades so that was good.  I didn't realize how much my mom loved tootsie rolls until I saw her beat the kids out to grab them. I am glad she was willing to do the dirty work for me because she was a good sharer afterwards.

We also had a Baker party after the 4th.  Karen made it super fun for Lucy by getting out this mini roller coaster slide in her backyard.

Lucy and Rhett were so cute riding in the car together. Conrad was a cute helper too.

The night before we left for Colorado, we ate dinner with my family at City Creek since Mark hadn't seen it yet. They had a little play area there that Lucy and her cousins had a fun time playing in.  This is of Lucy and her cousin Tommy.

Afterwards, we walked around temple square.
Here we are--5 1/2 years after we got married in this temple. After living out of state, I feel really lucky.  This is such a beautiful and special temple.

Matt was kind enough to pamper Lucy by gliding her around while she enjoyed her reading material.  :)

We also walked up to see the Christus.  This is one of my favorite places.  I remember coming here when I was little, looking up into Christ's face, and thinking that he loved me.  I still get that same feeling every time I am there.

That was the end of our 4th of July fun.  The next morning we went on our way to our new home in Colorado.

I LOVE your family photos. That was so neat to see all the cute kids in the pictures and to see how the Caldwell family is growing! I love your family!
