Summer Fun in St. George

Lucy and I drove with Mark to St. George frequently so we could shop, go to story time, ride the carousel, and play at the playground and splash pad. We had a really fun summer because of all these "holidays" we created for ourselves.  I am grateful for Mark for working hard so that we could play hard!

The first time Lucy rode the carousel she was not fan.  She is funny though because often after she has done something once while hating it, she later tells me how she wants to do it again and then likes it the next time.  That was the case with this.  She loved it the next time.

This splash pad is like heaven on earth for Lucy.  I don't think she will ever get tired of it.  It reminds me of how much Lucy loves to take baths.  If the water never turned cold, I don't know that she would ever get out.

Palisade State Park

Mark really wanted to go camping this summer so we were really excited when Wayne and Risa invited us to camp with them at Palisade State Park in June. We had a lot of fun on the lake riding a paddle boat that Wayne rented.

Brave little Lucy enjoyed playing in the ice cold water. I still can't believe she has a smile on her face.  I hated to even get my toe wet.

That night we had fun roasting marshmallows and Starbursts.
Here is some breakfast fun with Rhett. :)
I love this model pose of Lucy during our clean up time the next morning. :)

Cascade to Bryce

We drove up Cedar Canyon one summer day and were ready to start our hike to Cascade Falls when it started raining. We didn't want the drive up the canyon and our open afternoon to go to waste so we kept driving and spent the afternoon at Bryce instead.
It turned out to be a fun day as we drove Bryce from beginning to end stopping at the look out points.  These were some of the highlights of what we saw.

At the very end we did a short hike and ate dinner at Ruby's Inn. I am glad we didn't let the day go to waste
because it turned out to be one of my favorite times at Bryce.  I got to see so much with very little effort of hiking--especially since I was pregnant.

Girls' Weekend

My sisters and I decided we needed some time alone without the added commotion of kids so we planned a girls' trip in June.  We had a great time going out to eat, hanging out at the hotel, and going to the Utah Valley Parade of Homes.

In the meantime, Lucy was living it up. She got to play with her favorite babysitter Shaylee, Mark let her loose with her trike at the church parking lot afterwards, and she got to go to the splash pad in St. George the next day. It was a winning situation on both sides.

Baker BBQ and Cancer Carnival

We went up to Salt Lake a couple of different times in the summer so that Mark could look around at dental practices.  Each time we drove up we got to enjoy family time.  We had a fun summer BBQ for Grandpa Baker's birthday one weekend. Lucy loved riding the kid bikes up and down the driveway over and over again while Mark had fun playing Bocci .
We also had a lot of fun on a Saturday afternoon going to a carnival to raise money for Cancer in honor of Jenny's nephew who passed away. It included drawings for great prizes, kid games, free lemonade, popcorn, and yummy rolls. Lucy spent most of her time in the bounce house.

She also got her face painted along with some of her cousins,

loved playing on the playground,

and enjoyed the carnival's many treats.
Lucy and Hannah were very generous when it came to sharing their treats with each other.
