Thanksgiving with Mark's Parents

We had something extra to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. Mark's parents flew out to spend Thanksgiving break with us. I thought that this Thanksgiving was going to be a lot of work since we were cooking our first turkey and I was in charge of planning. It was just the opposite since Mark wanted to do the turkey himself and Margaret never stopped helping in the kitchen. I don't know how she has so much energy because it wasn't just on Thanksgiving that she was so helpful, it was during the whole trip! She amazes me!
The Thanksgiving meal turned out really fun. Our friends Morgan and Chelsey came over with their cute newborn Carly and homemade pumpkin pie--two extra bonuses! We had so much food that we used both of our table leaves for the first time. I couldn't help feeling like a king while eating since our table was so long. I decided to keep the leaves in for a couple of extra days to keep the feeling going.

One of the things we did while Mark's parents were here was go to Hollywood Beach. I had fun finding sea shells with Margaret while Mark had fun playing Bocci with his Dad.

Margaret and Allen were both so cute with Lucy. Lucy loved that they would help her walk wherever she wanted to go. I loved having the freedom of using my legs!

Grandpa's #1!

We also went to the Everglades Alligator Farm where we took a wild airboat ride.

This picture is a little blurry from the wet ride. Our driver was doing 360s and getting us super wet. It was so much fun! While Mark was video recording, I had a funny moment with the stranger next to me on one of the turns. We both looked at each other at the same time smiling and laughing. It seemed like slow motion--like something that could be on a cheesy movie. You are probably still waiting for the punch line. I guess it's probably something you had to be there for.

We also saw alligators, crocodiles, ducks, turtles, snakes, a panther, and baby exhibits.

The "baby exhibits"...

Since we were close to Everglades National Park, we walked around a boardwalk to see some birds and gators.

Before they left, we went on the Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi. It was a beautiful day which made the ride very enjoyable.

We stopped off for a bit and walked by the Fort Lauderdale Beach. I never get tired of seeing the beach. It is always so refreshing and beautiful to me. Just look at the clouds-they look like they are from somebody's painting. Too perfect!

It was great to see Mark's parents--especially since we didn't go home for Christmas. We appreciated all their help while here. It was easy to see that Lucy missed them too after they were gone since she was back to clinging on my legs. We are looking forward to seeing them again soon!
