We kicked off our July Festivities with the East Millcreek 4th of July parade and carnival with my parents, the Mulcocks, and the Hansens. Lucy especially loved the bounce house afterwards and was so sad that going down the big slide at the end meant that she slid out for good.

We ate at Rumbi's afterward with my family...

then headed to a Baker BBQ at Grandpa and Grandma Baker's house that night.

The Sunday after, Matt blessed our newest nephew Max.
Someone said in the testimony meeting how Max's name Maxwell Henry was named after two of his favorite apostles Elder Maxwell and President Henry B. Eyring. He's going to be good man with that solid name! Yay Max!
Em and Matt chose to do a hot dog bar. Saying I loved it is an understatement! It was complete with chili, cheese, and sirachi sauce. I thought it was such a fun idea and there was so much other great food there too! Yum!
The only downer was that it was so hot that day! My kids were roasting just like the hot dogs we ate! :)
We spent the next few weeks back at our house in St. George. These two made me smile by taking turns in the stroller..
cuddling together...
and sharing gogurts.

Landon also made me smile by eating whole Mexican burritos like a true Baker...
looking like he had clown makeup on...
and by his sweet sleeping.

I also had a couple more that I wrote down:
Landon thought it was so funny when I cleaned out his ears. His ears were so ticklish. So typical of him! He thinks everything is funny. :)I love how he talks like this (really high pitched imitations) "Oh. Ah?Whuh?" I also love how he crosses his legs every time he eats in his high chair.
I was rocking Landon to sleep. He rubbed his eyes. Blinked tiredly. Squinted at me. I gave him a big smile and he just started giggling. We went on like this for 10 min straight where I would smile and he would just start giggling again.
Lucy also made me smile when she was so excited to wear her new fancy dress to Ang's wedding. She twirled and swished over and over again watching it flow back and forth.

She also brought a smile to my face in these times:
I told Lucy to go get her jammies on. When she picked her skeleton jammies from Halloween I told her they were too hot so she put on a different pair. About 10 min later she came running into Landon's room while I was getting his jammies on and said, "Mom? Why did you put my skeleton jammies away?! Geez! I wanted to wear them in the night!"
I walked up stairs and said, "My legs are tired!". She said, "My legs are tired too. They need to sleep in the swimming pool. I want to walk in a float. " (I guessed she was talking about a swimming floaty?)
Later I told her I didn't know where her water toys were. She reponded, "Um...I'm big. I have an idea. You just open that and you will find them."
Lucy said today after she ate her lunch, "Mommy, I'm so rumbly in my tumbly, just like Winnie the Pooh!"
We also enjoyed our July fun by trips to the park...
Pioneer Park...
the sand dunes...
the dentist...
...and the splash pads.

We got to go to another parade in Ivins on the 24th.

Afterwards Lucy went "swimming"...

...and Mark cooked up some fancy food on his new grill.
We were so excited to take a family trip up Cedar Mountain the next day. We stopped at my favorite restaurant in Cedar City, the Pastry Pub.

Afterwards we drove up Cedar Mountain. We hiked to Cascade Springs and then to a small cave in the ground. We thought Cedar mountain was beautiful and it was so nice to be in cooler weather!!

That night we were able to stay the night in a three room lodge in Brian Head. It was really relaxing and spacious!
The next morning we hiked along the Spectra Point trail in Cedar Breaks. That was one of the most beautiful hikes I have ever taken. There were so many stops along the the trail where I was blown away by the beauty of what I was seeing!

We walked a little ways past the end of the Spectra Point trail and it changed into a different kind of beauty. We were then walking through green foliage, flowers, pine trees, and even spotted a couple of deer. This trip to Cedar Breaks made it to my list of favorite because it was such a beautiful, relaxing, and fun time spent with my favorite people.
