We Went to Disneyland!

My sister Katie planned a family trip to Disneyland in April.  Since Disneyland is just over a 6 hour drive away for us, we jumped on the bandwagon along with my parents.  We were so excited for Lucy to experience the fun.  It was hard to know how much Lucy loved it until we returned since she was scared on many of the rides.  Apparently she wasn't too bothered by the scares because she still asks every couple of days if we can go to Disneyland and ride the boats, the horsies, the caterpillar, and go to the beach with Katie and Judd.  She has such hope in her eyes everytime she asks,"Go to Disneyland?" or "Go see Mickey Mouse?".  I wish Lucy, I wish.

It was so nice to be in the sunshine all day again!  We had perfect weather. After the first driving day I got to say goodbye to the sweats and pull out my shorts and flip flops for the first time in a long time!
Some of the Disneyland fun included the Peter Pan ride,
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride...
Dumbo...
Small World...
the Carosel...
the Disneyland train...
Flik's Flyers...
the splash pad in Bugs' Land...
 and California Soarin'.
It was nice to go as a group so Mark had some fun people to go on rides with like the Matterhorn and the Tower of Terror.

My favorite thing during the trip was when I took Lucy and Hannah on the carosel together.  They LOVED going on it.  After riding it twice I had to pry their little hands off the seahorses.  Afterwards, they insisted that they hold each other's hands the whole walk back to the group.   They were so adorable!
The fun wore us all out.  By the end of the day, I felt much  like Lucy.
On the last day, we went to the beach with Katie and Judd. Even though the water wasn't the clear blue Florida water, it was so fun to have a beach day again!

By the end, Lucy was too cold to leave her towel.  Mark held Lucy while standing in the waves so she could still have fun and be warm. It was pretty cute of him to do that for her because I thought the water was freezing!
Like usual the trip went by really fast and before we knew it we were driving back to Cedar.  I am so glad we took advantage of the fun while our family is still small.

Family Fun in Kolob Canyon

We wanted to take advantage of the great spring weather in April and get out and see some things around Cedar.  Kolob Canyon is one I had never heard of before we moved here but it is actually a part of Zion National Park and only about 15 minutes from our house.  We decided to start a hike here that follows a stream as you hike close to the canyon walls.  It was really pretty and it made us want to come back and finish the hike when we have the time.

Easter Weekend

This past Easter was spent in Salt Lake with our families.  A couple of days before Easter, I had the privilege of watching these four cuties for a couple of hours.

The Easter festivities began on Saturday with egg coloring on the Caldwell side followed by an egg hunt outside.

Lucy's could not wait until she could finally eat the cupcakes at the end.
She got an even bigger bonus when she got to sit by her buddy Hannah to eat it.

The next morning, Lucy got to check out her Easter basket which included a bubble wand!
Before our Easter dinner with the Baker side, we fit in a quick photo shoot for Lucy.  The lighting wasn't the the best at the time but we still managed to get some cute ones in Lucy's Easter dress.

We had a long drive back home Easter night.  Katie was nice enough to let  us stay over that night so we wouldn't have to drive in the dark.  This meant the fun could keep going a little longer which was okay with me and Lucy!

The Big One

A big thing happened to Mark this past March....he turned old---whoops I mean Mark turned 30!!!
Lucy and I tried to fulfill his birthday wishes by only frosting half his birthday cake,

by making a book about why we love him,

and letting him finally get a great telescope.  It didn't take much to make his birthday great with the telescope around.  I am pretty sure his birthday dreams came true. Happy 30th Birthday Mark!!!
