Cookie Monster Spotted at the Beach!

Our plan has been to live up the beach while we still can before we move away forever.  We got to spend one sunny April day at Fort Lauderdale Beach with our friends Morgan and Chelsey.
These little friends were twinners that day.  I love baby bottoms in ruffles and I got to see two matching ones that day--bonus!

Lucy was having a great time playing in the sand and the water with Mark and me.

It was a pretty enjoyable day that turned ten times better when we sited a celebrity on Fort Laud Beach!

Cookie Monster appeared walking down the boardwalk!!
He didn't bring any cookies with him but did let us take one random picture for a dollar.  It was a steal. ;)

Sunday Stroll

One of the things I have loved about Florida is that there is always something to do--even if it is just taking a walk in a nearby park. We decided to take advantage of one of the great parks that surround us one Sunday.
Lucy and I were enjoying a nice stroll up to a watch tower,
then under this canopy of trees....
...until I saw one of these under almost every branch! My peaceful stroll turned into a frantic get away.  I will definitely not miss the creepy crawlers here! Honestly!  This is like a spider from a nightmare!

Easter Bunny Comes to Utah

The Easter Bunny made a stop for Lucy in Utah this year.  After Lucy and I ended our extra long flight for one of the last times (luckily--definitely a plus of moving), we were thrilled to finally see family!  Lucy's cousins showed her a good time by wheeling her around Julie's neighborhood in this sweet ride.

We stayed at my parents with my sister Katie and her kids.  Her kids were so cute and helpful with Lucy. Hannah and Lucy were finally old enough to interact with each other too.  Here they are after waking up one of the mornings.  As you can tell, Lucy was going to have a fabulous hair day.
They loved to waddle around to see what the other was doing and especially loved sharing food, toys, or  anything they could pass along. They made sure the other was getting enough to eat since I frequently saw one pass food to the other waddling by while in the high chair. Besides the fact that they both got a nasty cold from all that sharing, it was pretty darn cute!
 Blanket Lucy?

How about some toast?  It comes with a face poke!

Lucy was in heaven because there seemed to be a plentiful supply of giant stuffed animals to hug during the trip. The room we slept in was a hit because it was brimming with stuffed animals.
Favorites included this cow that was as big as her..
This dalmation...
and next, this giant bear! It can't get much better than this--Costco never fails me with their ginormous items!

We had a blast seeing the new City Creek Center...
(at least I did--I think Lucy had more fun playing footsie with Tommy during dinner).

We also had a great time going on a swimming excursion...
...spending an afternoon at the park..
...and having lunch on the patio with some of the Bakers.
Lucy got to participate in her very first Easter egg hunt that weekend!
She was so happy!
Okay I lied.
She was only happy if I was within one foot of her. I didn't realize Lucy had such bad stranger anxiety until we took this trip. Having so many fun people around must of been too much joy for her. :)
The Easter Bunny came early the next morning.  I thought that Easter Bunny was so smart when Lucy started hugging her stuffed bunny she found in her basket.
Next thing I know she found Caleb's stuffed puppy.  Boy was the Easter Bunny off.  She would not put that thing down.  Luckily, Caleb was nice enough to share all day.  I think his joy was complete  when he found the fart noise maker the Easter Bunny left him so not much else mattered.  (You're right Mom, I should have said "toot" noise maker.  You'll have to take it up with the Easter Bunny).
I really wanted to get some eighteen month shots of Lucy while there and Katie was SO nice to do them for me!  It was so hard to pick my favorites because I loved them all!
By the end Lucy had had enough daintiness.  She was back to being a kid.
Grandpa and Lucy's cute cousins helped Lucy conquer one of her fears that night--the trampoline.

She not only conquered her fear but she became quite the risk taker. I had to grab her before she walked right off the tramp.

The best part about the end of this trip was knowing that I would be back again real soon.  In just two weeks from yesterday, Lucy and I will be doing that extra long flight again for the VERY LAST TIME!! Whoohoo!

Spring Break and Big News

Mark flew to Colorado for Spring Break to look for a job through Comfort Dental.  We feel blessed to say he found a good fit during the trip and we will be moving to Denver, Colorado so he can start his new job in July!!!  I feel very lucky to get to move to Denver.  It fit all my qualifications for a place to live. I wanted a place with a temple within a half an hour, an airport, and somewhere driveable to family in Utah.  I got all three! What a blessing!
In the meantime, Lucy and I were trying to live up our last Spring Break in Florida.  We went to Knaus Berry Farm with some favorite friends and picked our very own strawberries from a strawberry patch.  Lucy wasted no time.  Within 5 minutes of arriving, she sat down to try a bite of each strawberry that I had picked.   She was in heaven. Afterwards, we got some homemade cinnamon rolls and fresh strawberry shakes from the farm.  I made one big mistake letting Lucy have a sip of the shake.  Before I knew it she downed the whole thing before I could get much more of it!  She must have known it was our last Spring Break in Florida because she sure lived it up!
