April was still a busy month getting our house together. Our first project was painting the ceiling white in our living room. We weren't too far into the second coat when Mark realized "he had a once in a lifetime opportunity" in front of him.
He painted an enormous U with the leftover paint on our laminate flooring before we tore it up to put carpet down. I have to say that that is one perfectly drawn U. Even the extra time was well worth the effort for Mark.

We enjoyed relaxing a bit during general conference amidst the craziness. It was nice and comfy.
Lucy has become my little friend in a "grown up" way. I love the conversations she makes up to "fit in" with me. She is always saying random things that she thinks are grown up like, "It's opportunity Mom. Did you know that?" or "Do you think its really going to happen mom?" as she pulls out a tape measure. Another time Lucy heard me say something to Mark as he shut the door and she said, "Were you talking and he didn't hear?" When I said yes she responded, "Are you serious mom?" in an annoyed tone. :)
She started picking up on my conversations with Mark when I try to convince him how tired I am because of the kids waking up at night. Now when we ask her how she slept she says things like, "I woke up at 1, you woke up at 4, and Landon woke up a 7. "
Lucy also loves to sing and I enjoyed listening to her sing her heart out one day during nap time. I also am very entertained when she dresses herself. During this time she was frequently making sure buttons go in the back...
and that she was matching perfectly. She frequently said that she wanted to be "all white" or "all pink".
Each month I relish in the time these two play together. Lucy frequently giggles and says, "He's so cute!" when looking at Landon. Landon thinks she is the funniest thing in the whole world. You can tell he loves her.
We took at trip to Salt Lake during the month for Jake's blessing. We stayed at my Mom's with thenThalmans. I always love when Lucy is able to spend more time with her cousins.
...and a trip to the U's Natural History Museum where we got to hang out for the first time with Ang's soon to be fiancé!

After Salt Lake we were so lucky to have the Mulcocks come down for Easter weekend. We spent a fun day at Zion where Cory showed us spots that were fun to explore.

During the stop we discovered a group of toads and this bright butterfly sitting next to a little water hole.
We also did the Emerald Pools trail while in Zion and went to the very top. Lucy did amazingly. We were so proud of how far she hiked without complaining.
The splash pad was included in the fun too that weekend.

We got lucky because the day we were there just happened to be the St. George Art Festival.

It was so great to be able to have family there for Easter Sunday. We had a great time seeing where the Easter Bunny hid the eggs and baskets. Our Easter dinner was complete with chicken cordon bleu, rolls, roasted asparagus, fruit salad, deviled eggs, and berry trifle.
April was definitely a month where we worked hard and played hard! Good times!
