Lucy is five months old. She is weighing about eleven and a half pounds. I am having trouble getting much done since I just want to play with her whenever she is awake. These are my favorite things about Lucy right now:
She is such a happy little thing. I love her smiles and the way she kicks her legs when she is happy. (This is when she isn't spitting up of course. Notice how she is wearing a bib in almost every picture?)
I love her big fat baby cheeks...maybe because this is the only thing she inherited from me since she is practically Mark's baby twin. How fair is that? Honestly?

I love how sweet Lucy is. I get to hear these sweet sighs out of the blue while she sleeps and many times she sings while she sleeps. She has been her own little sweet self from the very beginning. I remember her making these same sleeping noises in the NICU. The first time I heard it was during kangeroo care when she was only 2 pounds.
She also has these sweet cries that come out sounding more like little yelps. I may love her cry a little too much though since most of the time when she cries I just start to laugh. I should probably have more sympathy for her but I can't help myself. They just sound like these funny little girly yelps to me.
For some reason, I also love how Lucy looks in her carseat. Maybe it's because she just sits there so innocently watching everything I do.

A couple of weeks ago, I brought Lucy in from a shopping trip and left her in her car seat since she was sleeping. I couldn't believe how quiet she was. After a while I started getting worried. When I went to check on her I found this...

Of course! Who wouldn't sleep better with a night mask on?

Yesterday we were thrilled to be able to spend a day with Mark's sister Laurel and her husband Kory. Lucy loved Laurel and Mark got some great pictures of Lucy looking and smiling at her. I can't blame Lucy, we love them a lot too!

did you make those bibs!? so cute! I love the night mask....thats weird she wasn't crying. And her cute noises! I love this post!
YAY! VIDEOS! It's so much better to see her face instead of over the phone. It's easier to tell that she's okay, just letting you know that something's buggin her a bit. Those cries make her seem like such a delicate girl. and there is NO way I'd be able to sleep with those sleeping sounds going on in the same room. I'd be too entertained for one. You were smart to move her out of your room. Those pictures really make me want to hold and squeeze her. Mom told me to hurray and check your blog. (i think i'm going to beat her at commenting. she's working on her comment as I type, I think)These babies are so fun!
I'm chuckling as I read along about Lucy's night mask and her familiar sounds and then what the?...did Laurel and Kory have a baby I didn't hear about? Who is that baby that Bethany is holding? Then it dawns on me but I still can't believe it!? Lucy you are SO cute with that dimpled smile but NO more growing or changing without me there, or else your parents have to blog 24/7!
Hey, Katie, you little...well at least I didn't spell hurry wrong on my comment;)
Ha! Mom told me to check your blog too. I LOVED those videos. I wanted you to put those on here ever since we visited you. I miss her (and you and Mark) a lot. She has changed so much! Looks more like you, Beth, I say. and the last picture...priceless. Man, she's cute!
She is so yummy, I can't wait to meet her!
PS, I am due in May, your mom said you are coming around then? SOOO... maybe we can see eachother? Yes please!
Wow I cannot believe how fast time has gone! I cannot believe it has been 5 months! She is so adorable! I hope we get to meet her soon! And really I loved her cry too! I started giggling myself! Isn't amazing that with babies even crying can be cute and so much fun! Please keep playing with her whenever you can because that is the beauty of the first one! You get to give your undivided attention to them! :)
Love the pictures Bethany! I have found Sayla so many times with her headband around her eyes. Unfortunately, Sayla doesn't peacefully us it as a face mask. She starts screaming It's still cute. She looks amazing and such great news about her heart! We should get Lucy and Sayla together for a play date one of these days. :)
Our time with you was so special. These pictures of Lucy are absolutely darling! I am absolutely thrilled to hear about her heart--and that the news came on Valentine's Day is special.
