I started teaching violin at a private school this fall. It has worked out great except for one group class I teach. This class is with seven three year olds and one 4 year old all holding violins. I thought it couldn't get any harder as I've struggled to keep their attention every second, keep them from destroying their violins, or from telling me they need to use the potty all at the same time. Unfortunately, last Friday topped it all. I was just getting the kids to sit in a circle on the floor at the beginning of class when one little girl (who happened to still be sitting in the middle of the circle) threw-up all over herself and another kid's violin. Luckily, the janitor had just left the room so he was close by to clean it up while I walked the little girl, who was still covered in throw up, down to the bathroom where she threw up a second time. I just hope she didn't spread too many germs around because I don't think I can handle that again.

Beth... that's awesome that you are teaching violin in Florida! You do such a great job with that... even if it is with little 3 and 4 year olds! Sorry to hear about your not-so-good day!
You are definitely earning your money. How much are they paying you? I think barf is definitely raise-worthy.
Oh wow!! Good job on not losing it yourself!
That's so awesome you are teaching violin!! I can only imagine what it's like teaching those tiny kids! I teach the CTR 5 class and I have 12 4-5 year olds and it's a challenge...but they aren't holding violins!! And I'm very impressed that you handled the throw up dilemma so calmly! Don't you love the stories that come from teaching? :)
ewe! you're definiteley tougher than me! i'm glad you're teaching again. it sounds like fun (except for the throw up part) :) good luck with it all! i'll be excited to hear how it goes. tell mark hi! love, ty, michelle, cole and brooklyn
